December 19th, 2009We explore the Pro-Bass Shop (if they knew it was Carpmas, I’m sure they would gladly have renamed it “Pro-Carp”). More photos to follow on photo day (December 21st).

Stressed?
Let these tiny carp cousins swimming in “over-compressed” captivity relax you!

(apologies to Mr Geisel)
Oh me! Oh my!
Oh me! Oh my!
what alot of yummy things go by.
Carp on the street corner, carp in the tub.
Carp in the frying pan, Carpmas grub.
Where do they come from?
I cant say.
But i bet they have come a long, long way.
We see them come.
We see them go.
Eat ‘em fast.
Eat ‘em slow.
Not one of them is like another.
Don’t as us why.
Go ask your mother.

Carp Art submitted by (or stolen from… depending on your point of view) friends Jason and Capri. This painting was an antique market find only few weeks ago… Carpmas KISMET!
Visit Jason’s Flickr site while you’re at it (I’m a big fan).
Carp Art Piece #2

A work of… art… from my husband Tom, entitled:
I Love Those Little Carpmas Oranges

Start with your favourite Carpmas crackers

Paint on some tacky craft glue

Add glitter (remember the Golden Glitter Rule: There ain't no mistake that adding copious glitter can't fix!)

Attach some string or ribbon and decorate!

Fish Monger Brownie Delight
It’s enough to make any street-side fish vendor drool!
Just take one fudge topped Brownie Cake, and arrange it into a fishy shape
Add a puddle of raspberry syrup.
It’s even better warmed and served with a side of ice cream!

Welcome to Carpmas 2009
We are less than a month away from Carpmas and taking submissions for this year’s Carpmas fun:
We are also looking for the a new Poet Laureate of Carpmas and someone to write the Carpmas Carol.
Keep it simple – Celebrate the Fish!
Carpmas is over for another year. Life beyond Carpmas continues over at Charm and Tom’s Website of things and stuff , but perhaps you are only in it for the fish (understandable!). In that case, we will see you back here next December.
